كقوله تعالى: {فِي عِيشَةٍ رَاضِيَةٍ} [الحاقة:21] يعني: في عيشة مرضية.

وقال أمير المؤمنين عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله تعالى عنه يوماً لأصحابه: (تمنوا، فقال واحد من الجالسين: أتمنى لو أن هذه الدار مملوءة ذهباً أنفقه في سبيل الله عز وجل، فلم يعجب عمر، فقال عمر: تمنوا، فقال رجل: أتمنى لو أنها -أي: هذه الدار- مملوءة لؤلؤاً وزبرجداً وجوهراً أنفقه في سبيل الله عز وجل وأتصدق به، ثم قال: تمنوا، قالوا: ما ندري ما نقول يا أمير المؤمنين! قال عمر: لكني أتمنى لو أن هذه الدار مملوءة رجالاً مثل أبي عبيدة بن الجراح رضي الله تعالى عنه، فقال رجل: ما آلوت الإسلام) يعني: ما قصرت في النصيحة للإسلام حين تمنيت أن تكون الدار مملوءة رجالاً مثل أبي عبيدة بن الجراح.
وقال أبو جعفر محمد بن علي بن الحسين بن علي بن أبي طالب: لكل قوم نجيبة، وإن نجيبة بني أمية عمر بن عبد العزيز، إنه يبعث أمة وحده.
